I need to pass ownership of everything in my house legally to someone else, is this possible?

I have mortgage arrears due to a period of unemployment and partners ill health and being threatened with repossession. The amout we owe is more than we can ever repay even if we sell everything we own. So we do not have to start again with nothing as we have a 3 year old can we transfer legally some of what we own to someone else so if a baliff visits our items cannot be taken?
